Art is considered in different ways by people, due to its subjective nature. So, there are viewers who expect to watch something pleasing above all, without thinking about any kind of reason from the artist to do it like this, and enjoy it. But there are many artistic productions that aren’t pleasing at first sight, and I personally think that they catch the attention of the viewer too, and make us go on in order to know what and why it is like this. I have no doubt that most of the times the effort is on the part of the artist until the work is finished. As regards technical skills, I think being talented, permits to improve the skills, of course. But the most important thing is the creativity, I mean. Many, many artists with a large amount of it have been very successful. In terms of the need to have a social message or make a political point, I would say, that in a lot of the artistic productions it is present, and in several moments throughout History it has made people realize important things that were happening.
